Alaina Verkinnes, M.A. CCC-SLP

Welcome! I'm Alaina, a certified pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for helping children communicate effectively. My journey in this field began after I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Moorhead, MN, and my graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Dakota. I grew up in Williston, ND, which laid the foundation for my dedication to serving families in need of speech and language support.
With almost 15 years of experience, I started my career as an outpatient SLP, where I provided in-home and daycare speech-language assessments, therapeutic services, and collaborated closely with parents to set goals and monitor progress. Following this, I worked as an early childhood SLP within a school district, supporting children aged 3-5 and those in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who had various communication challenges.
While I have a broad range of experience in pediatric speech and language therapy, my passion lies in working with children with language disorders, autism, behavioral issues related to communication challenges, cognitive disorders, and those who use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). My goal is to empower children and their families with the tools they need to express themselves confidently and effectively.
My husband Eric and I reside in Princeton, MN, with our two lively toddlers, Finn and Joey. In our free time, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, relaxing by the lake, and playing golf. We love our community and look forward to building connections with more families through this work.
